Yeah, yeah I did. Production class of 2012, just graduated this month. Honestly, knowing how hard it is, I’m not sure if I’d do it again. I was completely stoked when I first got in, but as a production student, you’re there 14 hours a day while on production. Sometimes more.
You absolutely will be pushed to every single one of your limits, physical and mental. This is doubly true if you want to be an actor. That’s assuming that you’re one of the 25 that make it in. That’s 25, out of literally hundreds.
But that being said, it’s amazing that you get to spend 3 years of your life literally living theatre. If you aren’t close to NIDA, you’ll have to move, so it’s not a decision to take lightly if your parents can’t support you, unless you’re willing to work all weekend in addition to class all week (and I mean Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm EVERYDAY), so it was hard but rewarding, and it’s up to you whether you wanna chase it.
It was my dream too, and reality came knocking very quickly, lol. But hey, if you wanna go for it, more power to you!
